Dr. Larry Hull founded Washington Orthopaedic Center
in 1973 with a dream of providing quality care to area
residents through an organization committed to orthopaedic
medicine and guided by Christian principles. Today, Washington
Orthopaedic Center provides the highest quality orthopaedic care
from expert physicians and staff in a tranquil, state-of-the-art
health care campus complete with a Medical Office, Ambulatory
Surgery Center, MRI Diagnostic Center and a Physical Therapy Center.

MEDICAL
PRACTICE
- Each Washington Orthopaedic Center physician is a Board Certified Orthopaedist with an individual
area of expertise and interest. These skilled physicians share their unique expertise to ensure that
each patient receives the best orthopaedic care combined with the latest technology. Many people
travel from across the state and out of state to receive orthopaedic care at Washington Orthopaedic
Center due to the outstanding reputation and skills of our physicians and staff.
THE
MEDICAL
OFFICE
- As a patient, you can feel secure knowing you are in expert and caring hands. Everyone at Washington
Orthopaedic Center goes out of our way for you, whether you are visiting the Medical Office for an examination,
x-rays, laboratory tests or orthopaedic casting and bracing. We place a high value on each person's ability to
make informed decisions concerning their orthopaedic condition and its treatment. Educational materials
and our extensive medical video library are always available to help patients understand their orthopaedic
condition, its implications and treatment options. This personal concern and attention to every individual's
needs is part of our guiding philosophy, "Treat others the way you would like to be treated".
AMBULATORY
SURGERY
CENTER
- Washington Orthopaedic Center physicians work with the newest technology and equipment, using the
most current techniques in orthopaedic surgery at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Ambulatory Surgery
Center offers cost-effective, one day surgery. The center was designed by physicians to create an organized,
efficient environment for physicians and nursing staff, and a comfortable atmosphere for patients and their
families. Waiting families appreciate our home-like lounge complete with fresh flowers, complimentary snacks,
videos and current reading materials.
After Surgery, patients rest and recover in the "Step-Down-Recovery" area where they are reunited with their family and can enjoy a light snack and liquids. Prior to leaving the surgery center written instructions on caring for a patient at home are thoroughly reviewed by a nurse and the person responsible to provide care. Patients who have an arthroscopic surgery can receive a VHS copy of their surgery. After an out-patient surgery, a Washington Orthopaedic Center physician is on call 24 hours for patient or family concerns.
TOTAL
JOINT
REPLACEMENT
AND
SPINAL
SURGERY
- Total joint replacement and spinal surgery are proven techniques for the relief of pain and disability.
We are proud of our Joint Care Program. Today's modern technology and material advances support
safe and life-changing operations. Our physicians are specialists in this area of orthopaedic surgery
specializing in rapid return to normal life after total hip and total knee replacement. The operation and
recovery take place at Providence Hospital, next door to the Washington Orthopaedic Center medical campus.
Patients begin physical rehabilitation therapy at the hospital under their orthopaedic physician's care and
continue rehabilitation in an appropriate setting for their condition and lifestyle.
PHYSICAL
REHABILITATION
CENTER
- When physical therapy is necessary to accelerate a patient's return to normal activities, their
Washington Orthopaedic Center orthopaedist works closely with the expert team of physical therapists to
design and monitor an individualized rehabilitation therapy program. The Physical Rehabilitation Center
located in the Washington Orthopaedic Center medical campus provides orthopaedic patients with the
specialized exercise equipment, weights and trained personnel necessary to ensure a comprehensive
and successful physical rehabilitation program.
MRI DIAGNOSTIC
CENTER
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a safe, new technology which creates detailed film of internal organs,
tissues, bones and muscle groups, virtually eliminating the need for exploratory surgery. When an orthopaedic
condition requires a diagnosis beyond what an x-ray provides, a visit to the MRI Center is scheduled.
Washington Orthopaedic Center is pleased to be one of a few advanced orthopaedic centers across the
country associated with the prestigious Marin Radiology Group. Our patients benefit through this association
from tele-radiology interpretations of MRI films by leading radiologists who consult on challenging orthopaedic
cases including cases for the San Francisco Forty Niners, Denver Broncos and the United States Ski Team.
