For a start, check out our new name!
Having recently merged with The Rainier Group, a 90-year old telephone
company from Eatonville, WA, we are now Local Access Communications.
Through this alliance we have become a CLEC, which is a competitive
local phone company. We are just completing construction of our new
data center. Our phone switching equipment is installed and we will
be moving all of our Internet facilities into the new building early
in the first quarter of 2001.

Becoming a phone company
will result in several valuable enhancements to our service:
- Extensive electrical
backup and power generation capability that should provide our users with
continuous service during power outages if the customer’s own premises
are not within the area affected by the outage.
- Redundant connections
to the Internet backbone to eliminate or minimize situations where the Internet
is not accessible from our local area.
- More bandwidth to the
Internet backbone to afford our users with faster connections.
- The ability to provide
some of the new, higher-speed forms of Internet access such as wireless broadband
and DSL.
- We will be offering a
full range of business telephone services, including competitively priced
Long Distance service and Voice Mail (previously unavailable in our area)

We are the only locally owned and
operated Telephone Company in the Centralia-Chehalis area.
Because our focus and our livelihood are invested in this area, we
have a more customer-driven, service-oriented philosophy than large,
regional phone companies have traditionally had. We are right here
where we’re easy to find and we are committed to providing a
high level of customer service.

Local
Access is planning the construction of a new office building next
to our present location.
We have almost outgrown our current space and this new facility
should accommodate our growth in staff in the years ahead as we
continue to offer new services.

We
now have full-time web development staff to create your custom website.
We can design and build anything from a simple online advertisement
to a full E-Commerce site.

Our
web design department will also be making more frequent changes
and adding new features to our Local Access Home Page, where most
of our users start their Internet sessions.
Some of our latest changes are:
- Customize
the Home Page to display information you need easy access
to, such as stock prices and favorite links.

SOON! Check your Local Access account status for amounts
owed, due dates, even outstanding long distance charges if Local
Access Communications is your Long Distance Telephone Company.
- Real-time
local chat & message board, current local
