dot.gif - 0.0 K According to the title, you may assume that Exit the Body will be a performance filled with out-of-body experiences and wandering spirits. Do not be fooled. A chaotic montage of exits and entrances, performed with humor and satire, Exit the Body is a true "who done it?" production.

dot.gif - 0.0 K It is a story of a young mystery writer, Crane Hammond (Melissa Corby), who rents a New England house for the summer. Crane and her assistant, Kate Bixley (Christina Dempsey), intend to spend the time relaxing and beginning a new novel, when Crane stumbles across a body hanging in the closet. By the time Crane returns with Kate, the body is gone. They call the local sheriff, and so begins a web of confusion. Eventually, no one knows who anyone is, who is lying, or who can be trusted. Then another body shows up in the closet and disappears. The plot is further complicated by a diamond robbery, police, vacationers, and disappearing bodies.

dot.gif - 0.0 K "I'm a lot happier that we're doing another comedy because it's been over a year," explained senior Jessie Walls. "I think the high school students will enjoy it. It's a mixture of old and new actors, which is refreshing."

dot.gif - 0.0 K One of the new faces to hit the stage is that of senior Jake Thompson, who is not a rookie, but is a first time actor with the school. "I like this comedy. It will draw an older, and I'm sure, a big crowd as soon as word gets out...it's very funny."

dot.gif - 0.0 K As a veteran of the stage, Dempsey agrees. "It's a hilarious play that people our age can enjoy," she said.

dot.gif - 0.0 K Director Brian Adams also supports a change in theatrical production, but will preserve the variety by putting on one children's play every year. "I'm not going to sit there and be known as a 'children's play director.' I just did a couple of shows last year to kind of get things going off on the right foot, for community involvement, and to earn a little money. But, now I felt like the timing was right to bring some laughter into the theater," said Adams.

dot.gif - 0.0 K Tickets for "Exit the Body" will be sold at the ASB office, in the commons during lunch, and at the door on the nights of the show. Opening night is October 23rd, and the performance will run through October 25th, at 8 o'clock in the evenings.
