Mission Statement: The mission of the Crimson & Gray is to provide the students and staff of W.F. West High School and the surrounding community with a quality, thought-provoking publication. We aspire to print a publication that adheres to professional journalism standards, including sincerity, truthfulness, accuracy, impartiality in reporting news events, and equal representation of opposing sides. Through these efforts the Crimson & Gray intends to serve as an open forum for the free exchange of information, opinions, and artistic expression in a civil and constructive manner.
Student Submissions: Works submitted by students not on the staff, including editorials and artistic expression, shall receive the highest priority for publication as long as they fall within the realms of good taste according to the standards of the readership. Letters to the Editor must be typed or written legibly. The Crimson & Gray will print as many submissions as space permits and request that all submitted work include the contributor's name, grade, and signature. The Crimson & Gray reserves the rights to edit all submission for content, accuracy, spelling and grammar, and to refuse the publishing of any submission. All student work must be submitted in the Publications Lab., room #102. Written work may also be submitted via E-mail at crimson@localaccess.com.
Editorials: The opinion section of the Crimson & Gray serves as a forum for thoughtful, well-written forms of subjective expression. Bylined editorials represent the views of the author. Non-bylined editorials represent the views of a majority of the Crimson & Gray staff. Views printed herein are meant to be opinionated and do not necessarily represent the opinions of the W.F. West student body, faculty, administration, or school board.
Advertising: The Crimson & Gray will not accept any advertising that we believe to be factually inaccurate; designed to mislead, deceive or defraud; containing malicious, vindictive, or unsubstantiated attacks; offering goods and/or services illegal for teenagers to possess, buy or use; libelous; obscene; creating imminent danger or disruption to school. The Crimson & Gray reserves the right to refuse any advertising, solicited or unsolicited. Advertisements do not necessarily represent the views or endorsements of the Crimson & Gray staff or the W.F. West student body, faculty, administration, or school board.
The Crimson & Gray On-line: The Crimson & Gray On-line is located at http://www.localaccess.com/crimson/. Though in a different format, it shall adhere to the above said guidelines for the Crimson & Gray student publication.
