J.V. baseball: Sophomore Dustin Williams slammed two homeruns to pull the Cats over Shelton. Freshman Don Hill pitched a complete game to get a win against Hoquiam.
C-team fastpitch: Sophomore Kristie Fenn hasn't struck out once this season while playing Ūrst base. New freshman pitcher Tara Steel is also doing well for the c-team.
J.V. girls' golf: Sophomores Carrie Christiansen and Heather Bertels have improved by over 20 strokes since the beginning of the season. Freshmen Julie O'Connor and Leslie Petersen have improved their scores from over 100 strokes to the mid-seventies and are still bringing their scores down.
C-team tennis: Sophomore Garrett Gossan has made the greatest improvement. He has moved from c-team to playing varsity this year. The boys' next match will be home with Aberdeen tomorrow at 4:00.
Freshmen track: The W.F. West freshman track team is making a difference this year and will continue to for years to come. Kayla Pollard is strolling up the ranks in the 800 meter dash. She ran an outstanding 2:32 minute race against Capital. Freshman distance runners Ben King, Matt Stevens, and Ryan Stevens are destined to standout in the years to come. Watch for them at the freshman invitational May 10th at Centralia. |
