It's your life! Do what you want! Live for the moment...be a rebel...have sex with your latest fling. Stop! Maybe this time you've gone too far. Why don't you start thinking a little about what you're doing and the consequences of your decisions. It's time for you to stop acting like a child, take responsibility for your actions, and grow up.
Your actions and decisions now will effect your future, but the future seems so far...in the future. In reality, it's just around the corner. Now is the crucial time in your life in which you'll make decisions that effect you later on down the road.
The average Joe is thinking about college, getting a job, and maybe even starting a family some time. But he also could be thinking about drugs, smoking, getting drunk with his buddies on the weekend, and having sex. The pressure is on and the influence is high, but just because this stuff may seem "cool" now, the results may catch up to him later. Our friend Joe might go as far as overdose on heroin, or get in an alcohol related car crash, or he might get a venereal disease, make a girl pregnant, or even contract the HIV virus, merely because he didn't take responsibility for his actions.
Joe's dreams of having a career as well as a successful and happy life may as well be dust in the wind, only because he was living for the moment and failed to make a responsible choice. Even though some sexually transmitted diseases can be helped out a bit with medications, do you really want to go around having to itch your rash all the time?
Maybe if you thought it all over a little bit moreÑyou may change your mind. Do you want to spend time killing your precious brain cells and ruining your life with drugs? You only have one life. Is this how you want to live it? Do you want to really have that aweful hangover tomarrow morning? Do you want to be responsible for the death of yourself or other people around you for drunk driving? Do you want to be responsible for making someone pregnant or taking care of a child while you are trying to carry on with your own life? Is that the responsibility you want?
