Bye Bye Birdie

dot.gif - 0.0 KThe W.F.West production of Bye Bye Birdie will be showing Thursday, May 7 through Saturday, May 9. The seats are $6 for reserved seats and $5 for general admission. Shows are at 7:30 at R.E. Bennett school. Brian Adams, the director of the show, described it as "a high energy, upbeat, high tempo, foot stompin', 1960's musical comedy that will leave you feeling good."

Senior Prom

dot.gif - 0.0 KThe Senior Prom will be held Saturday, May 16. The theme for the dance is "Hold On To the Night." Tickets will be $10 per couple. Seniors who have paid their dues will not have to pay, unless taking an underclassman. Senior Servant Auction money may be credited to the unpaid amount of dues.

Music in May

dot.gif - 0.0 KMay 21 through the 23rd, several music students will be attending Music in May at PaciÞc University in Forest Grove, Oregon. "The weekend is supposed to get us ready for All-State," said Cary Walsh, who attended two years ago and will again be attending.

Choral Concert

dot.gif - 0.0 KOn May 28, The Choral Spring Concert will be in the W.F.West Commons at 7:30.

Top Ten Banquet

dot.gif - 0.0 K A banquet will be held for the Top Ten on May 21. The banquet will feature a slide show about the Top Ten. The banquet will be for both parents and students.

Northwest Wind Symphony Concert

dot.gif - 0.0 K There will be a Northwest Wind Symphony concert on May 30 in the W.F.West Commons.

No School

dot.gif - 0.0 K There will be no school on Monday, May 25, for the observance of Memorial Day.

Senior Athletic Banquet

dot.gif - 0.0 K On May 27, a banquet will be held for all senior athletes. It will start at 6:30 in the W.F.West Commons.

State Science fair

dot.gif - 0.0 K Congratulations to Pat Luethe and Erik Anderson for the victory at the State Science Fair. Their Radio Telescope took home the top prize for the fair held on April 5. "It was a tough project to do. We both feel a great sense of accomplishment," said Anderson.

National Journalism Conference

dot.gif - 0.0 K Congratulations to Erin Hillier and Laura Schumacher who both got superior ratings at the National Journalism Convention held April 16 through the 19. Hillier competed in layout/design for annual and Schumacher competed in literary cartooning. Amirah Parker recieved an honorary mention for her photography.

State FBLA

dot.gif - 0.0 KCongratulations to Michael Oechsner for his election to FBLA State Vice-President. Karen Muller, Van Chau, and Erin Taylor were second in state for entrepreneurship, and Brandy Mauel placed Þfth for creed and impromptu. The competetion was held on April 23 through the 25th.
