dot.gif - 0.0 K Are you often bored during class? Do you find school a complete waste of time? Well, please do yourself and myself a favor, and just drop out of school. Yes, I did say drop out of school.

dot.gif - 0.0 K Too often during the day I look around this school and see students who are disruptive, apathetic, and unmotivated. These are the students who constantly disrupt the learning process.

dot.gif - 0.0 K While it may come as a surprise to some of you, many students, myself included, enjoy classes and learning, and don't need you to come to class and ruin it for them.

dot.gif - 0.0 K What was that? So you say that you have the same right to an education as I do, and you won't just drop out? I understand that you were given that right to an education, but it was not given to you so it could be abused.

dot.gif - 0.0 K As an American citizen, you have been given the right to a basic education at no cost to you. And yet you forget how lucky you are and you cut class, don't do the work, cause problems, and inhibit other students from learning. That is why I am asking you to please drop out.

dot.gif - 0.0 K Teachers are placed in this school for many purposes, but most importantly, for teaching. Not baby-sitting. When a teacher has to spend more class time disciplining students than teaching them, one should realize we have a problem.

dot.gif - 0.0 K When you disrupt class, only negative consequences result. You really shouldn't put yourself through all of that. If you would just drop out now, you could avoid all of that detention time and in-house. See how easy it is?

dot.gif - 0.0 K Some may think this sounds quite snobbish. This is not the case. This editorial is not about anyone being better than anyone else, and I'm not saying that I am the best. This editorial is about taking advantage of the educational opportunities you are presented with.

dot.gif - 0.0 K Parents of students who actually care about school really shouldn't have to spend their tax money on apathetic students who couldn't give a rip about school. Why should they pay money for you to become a burden to society with a high school diploma? Why don't you just drop out of school now, start collecting your welfare checks and milking the system, so you don't have to ruin my education?
