Are you confused by the barrage of commercials advertising "the best" fast food? Here at the Crimson & Gray offices, we were, so we sent reporter Brittany Andres out to taste test local burgers, fries and shakes. Brittany's no expert, and these are just her opinions, of course, so don't have a cow Ð unless it's been butchered, fried, and served up on a bun.

McDonald's - If you're looking for an exceptionally delicious breakfast on the run, McDonald's is the place to go. Here you can find a wide variety of egg McMuffins, sausage biscuits, and pancake breakfasts. As for hamburgers, fries, and chicken McNuggets, they are accompanied by a substantial amount of grease. However, the service is speedy and the price is cheap.

Burger King - As McDonald's biggest competitor, this restaurant offers a basically identical menu with slightly higher prices. However, the chicken tenders are superior to the McNuggets. They are not drowned in a bucket of grease nor do you bite into those chunky, fatty parts. So if you're willing to sacrifice the extra change, a chicken tender meal is well worth it.

Jack In The Box - As advertised on the commercials, the hamburgers at Jack In The Box are their specialty. They offer an extended variety of hamburgers, from the famous Sourdough Jack to the BBQ Burgers. And for all those late night food runs, this is the only fast-food joint around with a 24 hour drive-through window.

Dairy Dan's - If you're craving for fries draws you beyond those of the school lunch room, you don't have far to travel. Those of Dairy Dan's are the best throughout the surrounding area. Though the service isn't the quickest, the food is delicious. They offer a comfortable atmosphere in a convenient location in relation to the school.

Yogurt Plus - For all those vegetarian and/or health conscious individuals, Yogurt Plus offers exceptional garden burgers, great home-made soup, and yogurt shakes. Located within the mall, this is a handy place with friendly service where you can grab a meatless meal while scoping out the "cool" Dalmatian clothes at Sears.

Wendy's - Wendy's features a wide range of high quality fast food, which is more than I can say for most. The stand-out items include (but aren't limited to) topped baked potatoes, a fresh salad bar, and the spicy chicken sandwich. The service here is as good as their food. But the bonus is the scratch coupons that you get on Biggie Fries and drinks that get you more free food.

Dairy Queen - The obvious main attraction at Dairy Queen are their ice-cream drinks and desserts. When buying Blizzards, milkshakes, and ice cream, the menu is unlimited. In addition to their cool treats, their hot eats (come on, you know the jingle) are not to be overlooked. When it comes to frozen desserts, Dairy Queen is incomparable and their fast, cheery service is commendable.
