Two crosses rest along the side of the highway, to be continuing memories of the horrific accidents that took the lives of Aaron Trotter and Nikole Putman. I never thought a car accident could take the life of Aaron, who was so close to my sister and family, not to mention the numerous others who Aaron reached. The nightmare has happened all over again to Nikole's family, friends, and others who have been touched by her life.
Life is extremely precious, I learned that from the loss of Aaron. We don't realize how fragile and precious life is until something bad happens, to say the least. Those good memories of Aaron and Nikole will live on forever, but let us not forget to be aware.
An accident can happen without much of a cause. Aaron's and Nikole's accidents were caused by circumstances, not wreckless driving. Therefore, we should still be as aware and careful of everything around us when we drive down that road we drive every single day.
Humans invented this machine, the automobile, a brilliant invention speeding up the pace of everyday life. Yet, it has the power to kill. Car accidents are the leading cause of deaths from age five to age 27.
Nikole and Aaron have joined that unyielding and growing statistic. Please don't let this happen again. Do all you can in your power to drive safe. Don't let their deaths be in vain. I have seen students at this high school screwing around in their cars showing off and speeding, but you know what, you can kill somebody or yourself. Just think about what you are doing the next time you get into a car. Remember Aaron and Nikole.
