The HEADWATER 16 &18 are the flagships of the Headwater Dory Fleet: Designed to meet the needs of sport and commercial fishermen, divers, and professional guides, these boats offer the proven stability and capacity of the Oregon dory coupled with the considerable advantages of modern Epoxy/Plywood Construction. Their hulls are frameless, stressed-skin structures that gain their stiffness and strength from their full-lengh curves, glued-strip sheer deck and plywood composite construction.

Like all of our Oregon dories, the HEADWATER 16 & 18 are fitted with 3 separate foam-filled floatation chambers, providing swamped stability that greatly exceeds USCG standards for level flotation.

On the water, the HEADWATER 16 & 18 perform as good as they look: Highspeed turns are executed with precision, with no hint of a skip. Speeds in excess of 43 mph have been achieved in a HEADWATER 18 equipped with a 55 hp Suzuki!
