After you have opened Eudora Light or Eudora Pro you will need to go
to "special" on the tool bar and scroll down to "settings."
This is only for Eudora Light. For Eudora Pro you will need to go to "tools"
and then scroll down to "options."
These are basically the only differences in terms of setup that the
two programs differ in. When you get into "settings/options"
you need to make sure that you have the picture named "getting
started" highlighted. When this is highlighted you will see some
information on the right of the window to fill in or edit. In the box that
says "POP Account" put in your username@mail.localaccess.com.
For example, my user name is JanM, therefore I fill in the box with JanM@mail.localaccess.com.
In the next box you will need to place your real name. In this box I place
Jan Michael because this is my real name.
If your program has an option that asks for a connection method, you
need to click on the top circle, usually labeled "Winsock(Network,
PPP, SLIP)."
Next, click on the picture on the left labeled "Personal
Info." When this is highlighted, you need to fill out a similar
screen as what you saw before. The POP account and real name should allready
be filled out for you. If they are not, refer to step 2. In the field that
says Return Address you need to type your full e-mail address. For example,
mine is JanM@localaccess.com. FOR EUDORA PRO USERS ONLY,
in the field that says Dial-Up user name you need to put the first part
of your e-mail address in there. For example, mine would be JanM.
Next you will need to select the catagorie called "Hosts."
Again, your POP account will be filled out for you. All you need to do
is fill in the next three fields called SMTP, PH, and FINGER. In the field
marked SMTP type in mail.localaccess.com. You will need to leave
the field called PH blank. In the FINGER field type in mail.localaccess.com.
The next set of preferences are yours to choose. you can leave them
as the default or you can change them to match what you feel you need to
have. Be warned though, only change something if you know for sure
exactly what you are going to change and what it was before you changed
it.
